Greetings folks,

We have released countless updates in the years. Some containing some high calibur talent, others just containing a release of rookies. This update is probably one of the more anticipated releases and is long overdue. Some of you may not be aware if you hail from the Facebook Side or if you don’t keep up much on the forums, so let me explain.

Late last year some of us a QUICKHIT thought it would be a good idea to try and involve the community a bit more. We have worked to seek your feedback and even gave some users permissions to help us police the forums. The stem of this step was taken when we opted to publicly recognize some of the more predominant members of the community. Now these players are not the ones who have spent the most money or only answer questions on the forums, but have made up the core principles that us at QUICKHIT can point to and say “those are our guys.” These members were chosen for a variety of reasons such as how their behavior is both on and off the field, how helpful they are or how their field game stands out. We wanted these players to have a special rank in the QUICKHIT History books. We deemed them “Hall of Fame” players. “What a creative and unique name Justin!” I know, this is what I am paid to do.

These Hall of Fame or HoF coaches actually stood out to us pretty easily. They are a household name to both new and old players alike. Their names can easily be found in splattered throughout posts, topping leader boards and more than likely an opponent in a player run tournament. These coaches we wanted to pay homage to by not only mentioning them, giving them a pretty colored name (sorry if we could change it to gold or something cooler than red we would!) or even sending them some select prizes, oh no! We wanted these folks to become immortal in the QUICKHIT Universe.

So I had them send me pictures of their faces and put my skills (or lack there) of Photoshop to work. Chopping heads, hair altering different aspects of their face I felt like I was playing Skyrim. After this “Character Digitization” I worked with each of them to ensure nearly every detail about their player was correct. Jersey number, college, position every bit of data I could touch, we did.

We transformed these Pillars of the QUICKHIT community, these Elite Coaching Legends of the game and turned them into Elite Legend Players (see what I did there?). In all seriousness these coaches have represented QUICKHIT from a level that us developers cannot. They gave countless developers, some who have stayed others who have moved on, a satisfaction that all developers strive for; actual enjoyment. These guys login, they play and most importantly they have fun and help out. We appreciate what so many members in our community do for us and we are glad to have made this game what it is today and these coaches are an example of the type of players developers enjoy making games for.

There are many, many players we would love to recognize for the contributions, however that is for round 2 of the Hall of Fame. This first time around goes out to the 9 QUICKHIT chosen HoFers and the 1 Community HoFer. Again congrats guys, thank you and all of the QUICKHIT Community for playing and enjoying the game.

This release consists solely of the QUICKHIT Hall of Fame players (and 2 Tournament Winner Requests). Interested in what positions they chose? What they look like? Check out the images below and please understand something very important: Our image conversion software does not do these fine men justice (and I was learning Photoshop in a crash-course style atmosphere ). Take a look at your First Round Hall of Fame Legends (and 2 tournament legends)!

*Known Issue* – The images in the 3D client will not be available. We are working on a fix for it. However we rather get this out to you guys than delay it because 3D heads don’t show up, not worth it.

The QUICKHIT Staff has chosen their top 9 candidates for the QHF Hall of Fame. The last will be chosen by the community.

Those chosen will receive the following rewards:

Name and head shot in the game as a new Elite Legend of the position and type of their choosing.

A QUICKHIT Hall of Fame Trophy with coach name and team name engraved on it.

An autographed hat or t-shirt by one of our former NFL Starters.

Check out below to see who was chosen…..

Creeke – Expected to be in the ”Hall of Fame” by nearly everyone, this veteran player has been around the block a few times. His high-caliber coaching both on and off the field had him chosen without contest amongst the staff. In addition with over 3000 combined games this coach was an easy pick and obvious choice for the QUICKHIT Hall of Fame - this coach truly embodies the spirit of QUICKHIT.

Eldreddoc2 – He is one of the older (history-wise, not age) more predominant members of the game. Big E has been a competitive player from the get go. This man signed on one day and the next honed in on number 1. Flying through the ranks he became quickly known and widely feared. Like others on the list he is well mannered and well respected, however a unique quality he has always expressed was his ability to “give props” to those that play well. To an overall good man, we give props to you!

Movieguy – A true QUICKHIT monster. This coach amazes us every time we look at his coach level, for posting it will be obsolete before you finished reading this sentence. When this coach has a goal “I would like max level before the Superbowl.” you really only question when he finds time to eat. Should he reach this level I think most will agree, this coach wins QUICKHIT NFL Football. In addition to being extremely informative when sending in bugs, this grid-iron monster is practically a permanent fixture on the QHF Leader-boards.

Jrcgehmtwe – With over 2000 Multiplayer games alone this coach is no stranger to the game. His forum signature describes his mentality as he dismantles opponents on the field: “win or die trying”. Simple and effective this coach currently resides as a “Proud member of the LFL”. Also a welcomed face on the forums this Midwest Manimal helps users with various questions and concerns, while still aiding in running another league. We salute you sir!

Davy56baby – From what I have surmised interacting with Davy over the course of his career here, I can honestly say, he is pretty blunt. However stand-offish this may appear to some, newcomers go through this game usually growing to respect him. He has helped countless people on the forums and has been known to compete with the best. To put it bluntly, he is a good guy who helps others laugh in the game.

Panagle – Since joining early last year, this competitive player has accumulated over 2000 games. Known among leagues he is a tough with a very competitive attitude. This attitude drives this coach to be one of QHF’s top competitors. Willing to divulge information and never afraid to ask for help Panagle is the definition of a competitive star in QHF. One word describes this player: talented.

Dbanks01 – The Mr.? The Mrs.? Both are revered as being not only extremely tough coaches, but for having such a great attitude win or lose. Excellent people these two show that gender means nothing as both coaches are more than willing to serve a portion of your body on a silver platter with a positive attitude, and a side of “sweetie”.

Spitfrnd – In my book he is a single player warrior, boasting over 1100 SP wins and still counting. If you are working on challenges or have trouble with a specific team, this coach will give you the information needed to crush the AI. His stat tracking and game analysis has been a huge help from newcomers up to vets. Shrugging off the Multiplayer haters this coach provides educated, researched feedback on plays and their workings on the AI.

Bama4747 – This coach heads up a few well known teams. Bama4747 is known to most, however Qhvictory and the undefeated -ELITE- are also at the helm of these winning ships. With just over 2500 games combined on all 3 teams and each team exceeding coach level 100, this coach stands out among most. Well versed in the run game his phenomenal coaching skills have driven him to being one of the top coaches in QHF.

The ones chosen above where picked for varying reasons. This ranges from forum contribution, games played, conduct on and off the field and general community consensus. The purpose of games is to relieve stress, enjoy the game and have fun with those you do interact with. Although some may have seemed obvious choices while others may be very unexpected, these are the folks you can turn to more often than not to give you the information needed. Well respected among the community as I have stated countless times these coaches show that age, gender, and physical condition hold no restraints on smart coaching and a great attitude to be the legends they are today.

Community Chosen: Rico1966 – Congrats Rico! He was chosen by a majority in the community. His uncanny sportsmanship, contributions to the QHF Forums and competitive play more than likely landed him this spot. Congrats again and welcome to the QUICKHIT Hall of Fame!

Congratulations to those that won, you have earned it. Through helping countless people to grinding on the grid-iron you folks have really helped make QUICKHIT a product we all love. You all were chosen for not only your coaching skills but also for your representation as some of the top players in QUICKHIT. Thus we thanks you for your help in making this the Number 1 Coaching Sim on the net.

Hey Guys!

So as I am writing this update “preview” the day we release update 4.0. Better late than never?

Anyways I wanted to outline some of the features in the release so I can link back to this in my Forum Signature.

BUG FIX! – To change things up a bit I would start off with a bug fix. We are tracking down a few other bugs involving freezes and crashes, however we were able to squash the 2D “Ghost Plays” bug.

Team Upgrades – We added 2 new team upgrades. Now most players fear there are more “Boosts”, others would be happy. Both sides would be incorrect to assume this…..HA!

Cheerleaders – Invite friends via Facebook or buy them for CP/QC on either Facebook or the Main website. This will give you an FP bonus to your team as they play games. Get them early to start earning faster!

Staff – These guys give you a discount on purchasing and training. Check out the upgrades section to see!

User Checklist – A checklist Facebook users can complete to receive a reward! Head to facebook and link your account now!

Chalkboard 2.0 – Added more tasks to the chalkboard to give players more direction on learning all the features the game has to offer.

Flyover Challenge 2 - This challenge will go live on November 1st. This is the second half of the challenge and there will be a good portion of games to play, so get ready!

New Players – A few new players were added.

Milton Hardon – Elite Pass Rusher MLB

Red Warston – Elite Pass Blocker OG

Dale Chipps – Premier Balanced TE

John Snow – Premier Balanced OT

Zack Wright – Classic Zone Coverage CB

Marynerd Griffon – Classic Pass Rusher OLB

New Plays – We added a few new plays to the mix.

Added the 32 NFL plays purchasable for QC.

Added about 12 new plays for purchase.

Hey guys!

Currently we are experiencing some severe website and gameplay issues. No we are not being hacked. With such a high demand on our systems the servers are not supporting all the transactions of new legends, Assistant coaches and all the games being played to test out the new gameplay changes.

We are aware of the issues and are working now, as we have been on finding a solution to the problem. My uneducated guess is that our database was hit so hard it just decided to take a break. Some code is being reworked hardware updated and all that fun stuff. We are working as fast as we can to get the game back up and running.

If you are unable to play a game I would suggest keeping an eye out for a Facebook/Twitter update post or a blog update. Once we get some more progress and information made I will update you all again. For now if your games aren’t launching just take a break and check back in a bit.

Thanks guys!

Ooo La La 3.9 Patch Notes

So when I announced the release of 3.9 a while ago everyone seemed pretty excited (and scared) of some of the new features coming in this release. These patch notes will give information on each feature and some of the bugs fixed with this large release. In these notes I have also described some small new features we added. Most of this will be review for those studious enough to have read the preview blog, but hidden in here are some gems, like EVEN MORE LEGENDS!

So click the more link and read all about this fully exposed release!

Assistant Coaches

Let us get this monster out of the way. As most of you know I can be seen now and then on the forums typing responses, getting votes for Deal of the Day and sprinkling ”I hope this helps” as though it was some sort of ice cream topping. The main thing I have read was concerns about this particular feature. People fearing it will destroy leagues, that it is a hidden boost and that we do it for the money. That is all swell and dandy however I have worked hard to always be upfront with what we do as a company, so concerns like this should simply be asked. I have a hunch I can give you a better answer than the rumors on the forums AND that your responses will be heard mroe easily if sent or discussed with me or Matt, (moreso me because I am special ). So let us dig into the feature a bit.

Assistant coaches allow coaches to give a possible +10 bonus to players in certain positions. For example a RB coach will increase a HB and FB by +5. This includes Rookies and all tiers of legends. There are 10 coaches in all 5 offensive, 4 defensive and 1 special teams. This means a level 100 Elite Legend player can functions as a level 125 player. 100 (Level) + 15 (Elite Legend) + 10 (Assistant Coaches) = 125. Specific coaches will be revealed when this update goes live, but there is a coach that enhances your whole offense by +5, then another that will enhance positions like a RB coach for another +5. Currently these coaches will expire after a week.

Facebook Users – Those with Facebook accounts can invite friends to QUICKHIT NFL Football as an assistant coach. This allows existing users to spread the word about QUICKHIT and bring in some new friends.

Non-Facebook Users – Those resistant to the tides of change, will instead have the option to purchase some coaches for QC and some for CP. So if you want the boost for free you can hop on to Facebook and link your Facebook account with your QUICKHIT NFL account, then invite friends. Otherwise purchasing the coaches will be the other alternative.

The idea behind this feature is to encourage players to invite friends. As many lasting members can attest to, the best part of a game is having fun with your friends. Some people have made lasting friendships with those found in this game. So we encourage players to bring in their friends to play the game and there is no easier method to do so than Facebook!

League Players – You….You guys…..You….. So as most know we do not officially support leagues at this time. We do not currently have a method for leagues to be introduced into the game, though we do have plans that should see daylight soon. For now we still like to unofficially support the player run leagues around the game. So when we heard things like “(insert vast amounts of vulgarity here)….You will ruin leagues! (continue vulgarity here)” we decoded the message. When players saw the feature they noticed something we did not. There was no message to the opponent that you were using assistant coaches. So Dave went to work and we came up with 2 solutions that were implemented.

Solution 1 – Assistant coaches were integrated into the Team Rating Formula. So as you add assistant coaches or they expire, then your team rating will rise and fall respectfully. This should help rated leagues as you will still need to be equal to or below the cap to compete. In addition this allows players who play in rated leagues to keep a more balanced or focused team. Instead of training those players, coaches can instead use an assistant coach to enhance each of those players or an entire team.

Solution 2 – For non-rated leagues that are based on player level, we added a new widget to the team hub. This screenshot should be viewable below and shows which coaches are active and for how long. Just be sure to check before and after a game! This is visible only if you are friends with the person or have access to the press pass.

From my perspective this seems to solve any and all issues currently involving this issue. Please feel free to PM me on the main forum with any questions or potential new problems that will arise.

NFL Season Challenges

So initially we announced the launch of the 2011 NFL Season challenge and the removal of the 2010 NFL Season challenge. There was a small outcry and we heard! We decided to keep the 2010 NFL Season challenge AND still release the 2011 NFL Season challenge. What does this mean? read below!

2010 NFL Season Challenge – This challenge will stay in the product for a while. There is no definite plan to remove this at this time so play and enjoy. This challenge will remain unchanged so they are standard NFL games that require the player to own the NFL Logo in order to play the challenge. The rewards remain unchanged as well, so QC, CP and Free play are all rewards!

2011 NFL Season Challenge – This new challenge will encourage faster gameplay. All games will be blitz mode, so they will be four quarters each quarter will be 1-minute a piece. In addition, we opened this challenge up to all players. There will be no requirements to play these season challenges. No logo needed and it will still yield the player the NFL Signature play of that team should it be completed. If the 2010 challenge is to long, then simply play through the respective team’s 2011 season to earn the play.

2D Client Improved

For many of us here the 2D client has been our baby since the begining. This client has ungone countless changes and alterations that truely reflect the history of the company. So we decided to step up the game of the 2D client. Screenshots can be seen below showing off the new and improved client. This was done with some new technology which decreases the load time to only the commercial you need to watch. Once the commercial is done the game should be ready. This should be true for most of our users. The client looks smoother, runs smoother and is a very much welcome improvement to the game.

Flyover Challenge

Many of you have been playing this challenge already so there is almost no need to really explain it. It is the first installment of some of the challenges we have coming this season and into next season. We will be adding the second part of the challenge later in the year as well as a few others. Beat them as quick as you can to be ready for the next one!

Gameplay Tunes

Users have wished for some tunes in gameplay and although there wasn’t a massive overhaul, there were many small improvements, tweaks and tunes made to the plays. Take a peak!

Tuned down effectiveness of Vikings HB Stretch

Improved blocking on kickoffs

Tweaked gap control distance tunables to try and cut back on LBs running in
circles.

Tweaked DE pass rush matchup numbers to try and improve their effectiveness
when they’re at an advantage.

Decreased the “faked out” time for defenders in zone coverage on
draw plays.

Decreased the impact of pressure on a QB.

Decreased the top end break tackle percentage to try and bring Power HBs back
down to planet Earth.

Increased the % chance that a rushing defender will read a screen.

Decreased the amount of time that LBs will stay engaged in blocks when they have an advantage or get a Win.

New Players

In the preview I listed out some of the new legends that were coming out. Well I got the go ahead to get a few more ready and put into this release. Check out below what is to come for new players and see the screenshots so you can better plan your QC.

Replacement Legends - The initial 19 legends we had set to release were to finish up their 63 real life legend counter-parts.

Rookies – Once those 19 were set some of us got to thinking, “Hey, legends are cool, but what about rookies? Let us add more of those!” and we did. 18 more rookies are on the way in this release which SHOULD cover the minimum requirements of each type of rookie in each position and I believe it will also meet the minimum required player amount as well. If we are missing any send me a PM or Matt a support ticket and we will look into getting the rookie into the 4.0 release.

Holiday Legends – Seeing as this release will probably be the best time for it, we are re-opening the casket on the Halloween legends. So look for these guys to be readily available in the store for you.

New Legends – Once we were all set to put the lid on this release, Mr. Dave figured due to the delay on the release that we should make it rain legends. So to keep up with this release we added 6 legends that are from a new batch heading out all through this year. This is the begining of us releasing some position types that haven’t been seen before as well as padding areas that need the extra legends. Most notible for this release is a Speed Return Specialist.

Bug Fixes

A few major fixes for usability mostly.

Bouncing from QUICKHIT in Facebook and the main site will no longer cause confusion. It would log into the incorrect account and cause a huge mess. Now we now the difference and this should no longer be an issue.

Coaches no longer need to switch to compatibility view to simply use the depth manager in IE9. Now IE9 users (like myself) can just head in and adjust their team as they see fit.

We have moved the ball to the 35 yard line in conjunction with NFL rules. As a result kickers have been slightly adjusted to keep it in bounds sometimes.

Reorganized trophies and challenge page tabs so they read easier. Current challenge trophies will be near the top and older ones near the bottom.

Changed the first objective in the rookie chalkboard to be hiring a friend as a coach instead of installing Unity for the 3D client.

Adding friends using the Facebook interface will now update that calkboard objective.

I hope everyone enjoyed this update page and this release. I will see you on the forums and will be readily awaiting your feedback and PMs. Some pretty nice features are coming in 4.0 that should excite you!

Greetings Coaches!

With the pre-season ending and the summer begining we will be releasing update 3.9. This update holds some good stuff for the first release of the season with many more to come! So click more and dive into this release!

2D Optimized!

Some of you may ask yourself how or why was this done. With the 2D client being a more stable and reliable client we decided to implement some new technology and help decrease the load times for the 2D client even more. In theory this should reduce the load times of the client up to 80%. That is correct you read that right, 80% decrease load times. This was a much needed update for those that use the 2D client as many do. We are still in the testing phase at this time, but things are looking good so far!

Assistant Coaches

For those of you that use Facebook you can invite your friends to join your coaching staff. When they do they boost the players that they coach. So if I decide to invite Matt to be my ST Coach my players will receive a boost. For those not utilizing Facebook you can use some CP and QC to purchase coaches to enhance your team. If you were to have a fully leveled coaching staff and all positions filled a Level 100 Legend can get as high as effectively being level 120!

A good way to encourage your friends to join as well as ways to enhance your team while burning through some of that pesky CP that is always hanging around!

Air Force Challenge

The first of many challenges to drop this season the Air Force has sponsored a challenge for you all. Fly through 4 tiers of NFL and custom Air Force teams. Earn new trophys and of course a nice purse of CP and QC to boot! These High-flyers can be spotted soon so stay tuned!

2011 NFL Season Challenge

Many of you have asked and we have delivered. The 2011 NFL Season challenges will be coming in this update. Another oppourtunity to earn the plays you didn’t earn in the 2010 challenge, while playing your favorite teams 2011 Season. Due to many of you completing the challenge of your favorite teams, we wouldn’t want you playing them again without a slightly better reward. <del>Completing the 2011 NFL Season Challenge will earn you 5,000CP, 50 QC and if you don’t already own it the teams signature play! Double the reward isn’t to shabby!</del>

*Update – Due to most players wanting the NFL Play at the end of the challenge we adjusted the rewards to allow players to earn the play faster. The changes are outlined in a bullet list below.

All 2011 NFL Season Challenges Unlocked – The 2011 NFL Season challenges will all be unlocked. None will require you to already own the logo. This is to streamline the process and allow players to keep their QC.

All 2011 NFL Season Challenge Games are Blitz Mode – Keeping in line with allowing users to earn the signature play and qc faster we changed all the 2011 NFL Season Games to be blitz mode games. This will allow everyone to finish the games faster and get back to our other challenges or Multiplayer games.

Less QC – Many will be upset by this, however please take a second to read. Initially users were given 50 QC for completing the 2011 NFL Season Challenge. With 2 of the above mentioned changes (All challenges unlocked and all being blitz mode games) awarding that much QC seemed crazy. QC is suppose to be the hard currency and thus we adjusted the amount accordingly. Now also factor in that the games will take you half the time and require no pre-purchase of a logo like the old format. This being said 15QC is around the price it should be for the season challenge.

Upon completion of the season challenge players are still awarded the signature play for that team if they do not have it already.

The 2010 NFL Season Challenge will remain active for completion. After some discussion and users not being able to complete challenges in time we decided to leave the 2010 NFL Season Challenge for play through the 2011 Season!

Gameplay Tunes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally we made some changes. Although small they are a step in the right direction for us. I have listed them below.

- Tuned down effectiveness of Vikings HB Stretch
- Improved blocking on kickoffs
- Tweaked gap control distance tunables to try and cut back on LBs running in
circles.
- Tweaked DE pass rush matchup numbers to try and improve their effectiveness
when they’re at an advantage.
- Decreased the “faked out” time for defenders in zone coverage on
draw plays.
- Decreased the impact of pressure on a QB.
- Decreased the top end break tackle percentage to try and bring Power HBs back
down to planet Earth.
- Increased the % chance that a rushing defender will read a screen.
- Decreased the amount of time that LBs will stay engaged in blocks when they have an advantage or get a Win.

New Players

As usual we are adding in MORE players. “Bah Justin I heard this before and I could give a hoot!” Well mysterious person in my head have I got good news for you this time around. With our newfound powers of creation Matt and I have summoned ROOKIES to the field. Ya anti-climatic, but there are legends too. The rookies should make-up some positions that are not currently available and should allow an entire rookie team with the required number of rookies of every type at every position. (If I am wrong on this just toss up a thread on the forums, tell me what we missed and we will create MORE! MWUAHAHAHA).

As for legends we are adding 19 more legends to the field as well AND we have more on the way for each update through the end of the year. Some being positions NEVER BEFORE SEEN, because they were not created. Until now. I rule.

The legends and rookies are listed in the image below. Sorry about the size and new window jazz, still mastering this blog mechanism, do-hicky, thing. Next release we will do another poll and see which positions users would like to see get some legends. Also note there MAY be an additional legend that MAY have a price change, but I won’t tell you. You will have to wait and see. HA!

Bug Fixes

Lastly is some pesky bug fixes.

The most important one for those that use Facebook and then come to the main website. You have suffered long enough. We believe the issue where it was not displaying the proper format (i.e. giving you the Facebook top nav instead of the main site) should be fixed. Now when you visit Facebook then come back to QH and want to buy some QC or better yet try an offer it will be the correct format. Hurray!

Next up IE9, you little devil. Those that use IE9 and try to use their depth chart no longer need to set yourself to compatibility mode. Now IE9 users can seemlessly adjust their depth chart then head right into a game! I am happy from a testing perspective so sadly, this is my favorite thing in the release.

New forum layout will attempt to be implemented and if things break we will set it back. Should be a simple adjustment. Once we change it we will gather some user feedback for a release to see how you all like it. Shouldn’t be to confusing.

Lastly we SHOULD be implementing the new NFL rule of kicking from the 35 yard line, however this may get pushed to another release or readjusted if we notice large problems with it.

Well this concludes the Preview of Update 3.9. I hope you enjoy what we have coming and we have A LOT MORE coming through out the year. Thank you all for playing and I will see you all when I return!
