Dev. Diary: Welcome to the Big Show
Ladies, gentlemen, distinguished members of the Coaching community…after a long, laborious off-season of feature-fueled fun, the team here at QUICKHIT is proud to announce that the NFL is finally here!
As you may have noticed on login, we’re stepping into the 2010 NFL season with some serious swagger. We’ve retooled almost every aspect of the product to ensure an authentic NFL experience, and the list of additions adds up to what we feel is the strongest update in QUICKHIT’s history.
Let’s start with the obvious stuff:
A New Look for a New Season

Arron, Mike and the rest of the production design team have been hard at work on a full site redesign, enhancing many of the features you guy know and love to give the NFL it’s due. The highlight list includes:
- The Team HUB: We’ve added links to key spots around the site to your private HUB, added the ability to extend offline Friend invites on public pages, and more. Give them a look!
- The Top Navigation: We made a handful of adjustments up top to make things a bit easier to find, including the addition of the “Pro Shop,” a one-stop location for team enhancements.
- The 2010 QUICKHIT NFL Starters: Additionally, we’ve added a new round of familiar faces to the QUICKHIT product including Titans HB Chris Johnson, Cowboys OLB DeMarcus Ware, Pats WR Randy Moss, and the Redskins own dynamic duo, QB Donovan McNabb and DT Albert Haynesworth. Click here to learn more or face off against them in the Single-Player game.
To Be the Best, You Have to Beat the Best

You’ve all heard the old adage above, and its as true as ever in QUICKHIT NFL Football. We’ve hand-crafted a series of NFL-branded Challenges that will allow you to unlock all 32 Single-Player teams, earn valuable Coaching Points and as promised, even snag some free Quick Cash!
- The NFL Rookie Cup: Rookie Coaches will get their mitts on a new-look Rookie Cup, putting them through the paces against the practice squads of our four Starter teams. Learn more.
- NFL Season Challenges: And our “Seasoned” veterans? They’ll get the chance to go toe-to-toe with all 16 opponents from their favorite NFL squad’s 2010 schedule for CP and QC spoils! Learn more.
- NFL Division Challenges: Finally, we’ve added a special 8-challenge gauntlet for Single-Player addicts that allows you to go through the NFL’s storied divisions in a worst-to-first battle for CP, QC, and the right to play each of the 4 division teams in exhibition mode. Learn more.
We mentioned all of the above in our E3 previews, so we’re guessing our hardcore followers aren’t exactly surprised by their arrival, but this next feature is sure to send shockwaves through the QUICKHIT Coaching ranks:

A Sneak Peek – QUICKHIT 3D
That’s right, folks! Free-to-play browser-based football is making the polygonal leap this season! Many of you guessed 2011 for a 3D version, but Trevor, Derrick and the rest of the gameplay team have been secretly burning the midnight oil on a Unity-fueled version that plays from directly from your browser against 3D and 2D opponents! Our Training Camp testers have been raving for over a week now, and we’re happy to unleash the beast to the general public, you can get more here.
Game Tunes, Dave Z’s Insomnia, etc.
To help usher in the 3D era, we’ve done an animation overhaul to the game itself, which also required a host of tunes to ensure that everything works properly. Dave and the gameplay team have been working tirelessly for the last few weeks to get everything together, but some of the high-level changes include:
- Avoidance: A first pass on proper player avoidance has been implemented, which means your players will try to do things like avoid illegal contact in pass defense and avoid friendly blockers on offense.
- Skill Tunes: Several skills you guys have been harping on in the forums, such as Ball Strip, have been adjusted to help facilitate more realistic turnover rates.
- Defensive Line Tunes: The infamous “freeze” after blocking wins has been fixed, and top-notch lines are more effective in general at getting after the Quarterback.
As you can see, we’ve been pretty busy over the last couple months. These are but a handful of the NFL upgrades we have in store for the game this Fall, so be sure to hit the field and prep for one whale of season.
Until Next Time,
